Replacemnet Motor & Belt Assembly Barely 2Y

Where do I start, the owner of our abode got the garage motor & chain assembly replaced as it crapped itself. They settled on the replacement being a Merlin MT100EVO Motor & Belt Carriage Assembly, installation took forever as the installer didn't have a stud detector for mounting the new belt carriage. He ended up using the old mounting holes, which I deem a pretty unsuitable action to take for a new installation, concerning warranty & all. To top it off he even took the old chain & motor assembly away, even though I stated to leave it as I had a m8 lined up to purchase it. It's just had compulsory maintenance performed, I gather it was about keeping the warranty active, and I informed him that I think the wall-mounted button battery is on its last legs. He just informed me saying it happens, a day l8er it dies, one would think it would be replaced after being informed of it. Now part number 041A4017-1, being the 'Motor Shaft Adapter' completely sheered off inside the belt carriage assembly which in turn the motor proceeded to strip the inside of the adapter so it couldn't drive the belt, something I believe should have been examined for wear & fatigue during the last service/maintenance Now I have to go to TAFE tomorrow & my poor mother with her age can pull the emergency cord but is far too weak to take the weight of the garage door by herself. To make matters worse you flog the replacement for $39 though the part itself is barely $3 worth of metal, it would be worth that amount if it was say Keyed & manufactured using hardened steel, also to make matters worse the adapter is currently Sold Out. This shouldn't have even happened to a device that is 2 maybe 3 years old and was just recently serviced.
